About Safer Bathroom Report
Independent testing of no-drill bathroom safety handles
Marcus Hale, OTR/L
Licensed Occupational Therapist · 19 years in home-safety assessment
I test every handle in a real bathroom, on wet tile, with my full body weight — not on a spec sheet.
How we test
Every handle is installed in a working family bathroom on glazed tile and used twice a day for three weeks. We record install time, the position of the pads after 24 hours, 7 days and 21 days, hold under a two-handed pull at roughly half body weight, and whether removal leaves a mark.
We do not score from spec sheets and we do not accept a product in exchange for a placement in the ranking.
How we make money
We earn a commission when a reader buys through our links, including as an Amazon Associate. The price you pay is unchanged, and commission has no influence on the order of the ranking.
Medical disclaimer
This site provides general information, not medical advice. Suction handles are balance aids, not weight-bearing transfer equipment. If a person requires full weight-bearing support, consult an occupational therapist and install a stud-mounted bar.
